Originally comprised of four different towns, the Alma known today came into being in 1962 when the municipalities amalgamated. Currently with a population over 30,000, Alma is known in the region as an excellent place to enjoy outdoor activities anytime of the year. Skiing areas and snowmobile paths make it idea for the winter, while close proximity to the waterfront make it an aquatic playground during the summer months.
